Hishida Distillery is a whiskey distillery newly established in 2022 within Tensei Shuzo, a shochu brewery founded in 1901. It is a malt and grain whiskey distillery on the Osumi Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture, brewing with ultra-soft water from the Fugendo Spring, which was selected as one of the 100 best waters of the Heisei era.
This is the distillery's first 100% malt newborn, aged for 21 months in PX sherry casks within Hishida Distillery's storage facility, the Ariake Aging Cellar.
●Taste: On the palate, a rich, full-bodied sweetness spreads, accompanied by aromas of sherry casks reminiscent of dark chocolate and raisins. A subtle astringency and black tea-like aroma create depth, while youthful strength is harmoniously balanced with the woody finish of the oak barrels. The warm aging environment produces an impressive smooth texture and rich body.
Bottlings: 2,000 bottles
